Rovelyn Jane always had a strong connection and passion for beauty & makeup at a very early age. Initially, she acquired her skills and knowledge through her own efforts without formal training, but only while she was enrolled in a Makeup Academy that she discovered she had a natural talent in Makeup Artistry. As a graduate of the MakeUp Designory (MUD) in Burbank, CA and Makeup Artist for MAC Cosmetics, Rovelyn Jane got all the necessary skills, experience and education that make her the professional Makeup Artist that she is today.

I have worked with many makeup artists in my past as well as being on photo shoots as a stylist and observing how makeup artists work with their client. It was a pleasure to work with Rovelyn when we did a test look for a wedding photo shoot for me. There is a big difference from former photo-shoots for modeling than it is when it is your wedding day. Oh, how the standards are SO much higher. (hahaha)
To do this test shoot with bride makeup with Rovelyn put a lot of my worries and anxiety at ease. Rovelyn is great at working WITH you and bringing out what it is you are going for with such ease and “bubbly-personality” grace that it is not only amazing to see the end result but enjoyable to work with her.
I appreciate the outlook she has on all women which is that we are all beautiful and she jokes that she is like a “fairy godmother of makeup” who not only creates beauty with her toolset in makeup but holds a space for you to become even more aware of that beauty residing within you. Like I said, I’ve worked with many makeup artists before and none have that same combinitation of positivity, professionalism and grace that she does.
The only reason that she did not do my makeup on my actual wedding day was because of the destination of where my wedding took place and travel arrangements. Otherwise, I would have booked her for this most special occasion and when you want your natural beauty and essence to really shine through.

Rovelyn did my makeup for my wedding this past weekend. What can I say other than that she clearly deserves 5 stars.
Professionalism – She is prompt, direct, polite, extremely personable, caring and dedicated.
Price – extremely fair for the wedding market and, considering the end result, practically a bargain. I doubled her tip after seeing the end result.
The product – She delivers. She knows her makeup and made me look quite nice, if I do say so myself.
Bonus: She knows how to do makeup for Asian faces. This is not typical of makeup artists, let me tell ya. I used another artist for my engagement shots and totally looked like a weird dragon queen from the 1920s.
Mostly, she is kind person, the kind of professional you want to have around on your wedding day. Hire her; you won’t regret it.

Rovelyn is a fantastic makeup artist. As an event producer, I look for the absolute best for my clients and myself! Rovelyn was very professional but still had a very relaxed attitude while she worked. In her application process it is very clear that she really focuses on highlighting a woman’s natural beauty instead of just caking on makeup.
Her work is fantastic and I would recommend her to anyone! She did my makeup for my own wedding shower and I was thrilled with the result.

After 10+ years of being my go-to gal for flawless make-up application, I feel it’s about damn time I hop on yelp and give Rovelyn a stellar review.
As someone who does not wear make-up on a daily basis, it is always important to me to have that natural, finished look when I do decide to play dress-up for an event or casual special occasion. Rovelyn has certainly mastered this style/technique, as well as evolved and grown so much as an artist being able to adapt her skills to conquer any look requested of her. What I like most outside of her cleanliness (very mindful of up-keeping her brushes and tools in-between clients), is her way of talking you through the process and letting you know what she is doing and why. There’s a certain reassurance that comes with knowing exactly what is being done to you even if you weren’t initially looking to inquire about that information. She exudes make-up knowledge and is the perfect balance of professionalism and personability. I’ve already recommended her to many friends (most recently, a friend’s engagement party) and they all share the same sentiments and rave reviews.
I promise you will NOT be disappointed. You need to check her out for yourself!

Rovelyn does the best makeup! She caters to any preference you may have in regards to any aspect of the makeup you are getting done and she is always considerate of time schedules needed. She explains to you step by step what she is doing as she is applying the makeup to your face a consistently shows you what she is doing in the mirror so that you will be truly satisfied. She ever disappoints and is the best makeup artist hands down!

Rov is AMAZING!! I can’t thank her enough for making us look and feel beautiful for the wedding. When people see the photos, one of the first comments is how gorgeous the make up is!!…Rov made up 5 women, including me that day. I knew I would challenge her with women of different skin tones, but she didn’t flinch. She knew exactly what she was doing and maintained the integrity of everyone’s natural beauty. She was professional and knowledgeable. I heard her giving some of my girls tips, even under the time crunch.
Rov made me feel extremely comfortable and in the end, did an incredible job. I only wish that she lived closer to me so that she could do my make up more often!

I love this girl! With so many MUAs in the LA area, it’s hard to pick “the one”. I was referred to Rovelyn by my co-worker who knew that she and I would get along. I was hesitant at first. I usually end up regretting getting my makeup done because it always looks overdone. But once I met Rovelyn, I knew I was in good hands. She listened to my concerns and not only did she make me feel at ease but I felt like I could trust her! I LOVED the way my makeup looked. She has a way of bringing out your natural beauty. Having a very picky personality when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation, Rovelyn just exceeds all my expectations. Her make-up application skills are amazing & beautiful not to mention that her “gadgets” are always organized and sanitized. I always see her washing her brushes and making sure that you will be comfortable with whatever she will use/apply on your face. Rovelyn is beyond words! She’s knowledgable, honest, and such a sweetheart. One of my good friends recommended Rovelyn when I was looking for a makeup artist for my engagement photo shoot. I am soooo glad I had her do my makeup. Like others have said, her work is clean and flawless. She doesn’t cake on the foundation or eye shadow. She brings out the natural beauty in her clients and that’s what I loved with my makeup. I wasn’t sure what I wanted for my shoot, but I was able to give her ideas of what I was going for which was a romantic glow. She provided me input and did her thing! After she’s done working her magic, your mouth will drop in how beautiful you look. She uses top of the line products and teaches you tricks during the application process so you can do it yourself. You don’t feel rushed or pressured to do a look that isn’t you. She is so down to earth that time flew when she worked on me. I loved her and her work that she will be doing my wedding as well as my maternity photo shoot makeup!
